Wii internet help.

I have been looking at the manual for the Wii and I have been looking at the internet settings page. I don't have wireless internet because my family is happy with wired. But I am not. So I am trying to get internet for my Wii the cheapest way possable. So I am going to get the LAN adapter when it comes out. (or I may buy it online but I don't know yet) But in the manual to set up the internet the order must be...

Broadband Internet Connection---Wired Router---LAN Adapter---Wii.

But I have got 1 problem...I don't have a router, I have a modem instead.

Will it work just the same or have I got to get the USB adapter which is like £30!?

I'm not the best at the outer side of computers but if i was you I'd buy the wi-fi connector since it's very simple to use

I could but I would have some problems with it.

1st My Wii is up stairs and my computer is down stairs so the range may be too far.

2nd If I do want to go on the internet on the Wii, I have to go down stairs and turn on the internet on the computer but that is not the problem. Lets say if I am down loading a VC game on the Wii. But someone down stairs looks at the computer and thinks, "hay, no one is useing the computer, I may as well turn it off" And then that will crash everything on my Wii...Which is bad.

So I don't know what to do.

1.It will reach.

2.Stick a big note on the monitor saying; WII IN USE DO NOT TURN OFF !

well... errr... i dunno

my family usually keeps the computer on ALL the time so it isnt a problem and the connector strentgh is strong enough to reach about halfway down the street.

Wii shop channel->Wii hardware->Wii internet trial version

It's free and you (obviously) need wi-fi

I was considering one since it is cheap off ebay... Why sould I not get one

Never buy one only 1 out of 99 people can get it to work

apart from here ive never heard of complaints about it. is this the wifi max hating forum?
